Christmas Markets in South Tyrol

Christmas Market in Bolzano/Bozen
The Original South Tyrolean Christmas Market welcomes you in Bolzano's piazza Walther square
It was the winter of 1991, when the first Christmas market was held in South Tyrol. It took place at the heart of Bolzano, in piazza Walther square, where the Cathedral and the marble monument portraying minstrel Walther von der Vogelweide are ever-present landmarks during Bolzano's Christmas markets . Located in South Tyrol's capital, it's the oldest and largest Christmas market in the region.
Christmas Market in Meran/Merano
The Original South Tyrolean Christmas Market along the cure promenade in Meran
Meran's architecture merges different styles and attracts art and culture enthusiasts to what is known as the "spa town": Medieval arcades, charming Art Nouveau villas, the minimalism of modernity. Held in front of Meran Kurhaus, the Christmas market is in a gorgeous setting. Stroll through the illuminated stalls and stop at one of the delicious food stands to try hot drinks, traditional dishes and snacks that will make you feel warm.
Bressanone Christmas Market
Enjoy sociable hours on the Piazza Duomo during Advent in the cathedral town of Bressanone. Bressanone also offers solemn Rorate masses in the Cathedral. Since 2015 the light and music show “Soliman’s Dream” has been a further fascinating attraction for visitors.
Christmas Market in Bruneck/Brunico
The Original South Tyrolean Christmas Market
You can't miss the Bruneck Christmas market during the Advent Season. The typical delicacies you can try here are many and mouth-watering: like the fried dessert strauben, the apple strudel or the goulash soup. Are you still looking for a handmade present to put under your Christmas tree? At the Brixen Chritmas market, among tree decorations, wood sculptures and natural cosmetics, you'll have a wide choice.
Christmas Market in Sterzing/Vipiteno
The Original South Tyrolean Christmas market in Sterzing, at the foot of the "Tower of the Twelve
Original and filled with sounds. In Italy's northernmost town, the Christmas market is small, welcoming and traditional. Sterzing's ladmark, the Tower of Twelve, overlooks the Christmas scene and the sound of its bells creates an unusual melody every day at 5 p.m. The sprightly spound seeps in the merry hustle and bustle of the square as children and adults stroll among the little wooden. Here, unique hadcrafted objects and local dishes are displayed. If you want to broaden your shopping experience in Sterzing, stroll through the medieval alleys of the historic center.
