Tschaufen
Hunting lodge of the Counts of Maultasch
Tschaufen looks back
over an eventful history: In the Middle Ages Tschaufen was the hunting
lodge of the Counts of Maultasch. From 1907 the cooperative of Haflinger
horse breeders used the Tschaufer farm to raise Haflinger mares. Behind
the house a burial mound dating back to the times of the migration
period between 300 and 400 BC was discovered.
Not far from Tschaufen is the “Tschaufner Weiher” biotope.
